Scoot is setting up base in Thailand in a joint venture with the Thai carrier Nok Air.

Scoot is a long haul low cost carrier (LCC), wholly owned by Singapore Airlines, and Nok Air is a short haul LCC, partially owned by Thai Airways, that only serves destinations in Thailand and a few in Myanmar. The new carrier NokScoot will start long haul flights out of Bangkok's Don Mueang airport, Nok Air's existing base, likely in the second half of next year.

Fyi, nok (??) is the Thai word for bird.
