Jeju, South Korea
« on: Sep 11, 13, 11:34 AM »
Hi folks

Thinking of heading to Jeju this end Oct/Nov to do trekking :walk: and sightseeing.
Thinking of this doing this. http://www.jejuolle.org/#
(Click on the bubble next to the little horse to select English language.)

There is a Jeju Olle Walking Festival on from 31/10 to 2/11 covering routes 14, 15 & 16.  See here http://www.jejuolle.org/?mid=109

Anyone out there who has done parts of it and willing to share some info?
Also, to see if any one is interested.
Will possibly cover abit more of Seoul as well.

Thanks!

Hi Keng, thanks! but just to clarify - will that be Oct or Nov?

Busan - dont forget to check out the bridge both during the day and night time,  but it's gonna be super cold at night, so wear lots. And if you intend to eat from those shops lining the wharf, do compare the prices before u decide on one. Better still if you can find a local to go with you.  :D

Irene

hi ngial,

the walk seems interesting. Do yu already have an itinerary ? 1 day in Seoul follow by 3 days in jeju then 1 day in Seoul again before flying back to SG?

Hi Keng

I'm posting here cos my eating/shopping friends are not interested in trekking and my trekking friends are either not free or have used up their leave.   :laughing3:

Anyway, enjoy your trip and perhaps you could share some info here after that.

Hi geniuslys1

At first i wanted to coincide with the Walk, but i think i wont be able to get leave then.  So i'm planning to spend min 2 weeks at Jeju or max 4 weeks to cover selective sections or all. But i am still at the researching stage.

Regards
Irene

Hi All,Irene,

I enjoyed the Jeju trip pretty much, i did Olle Course 7  and halla san the next day so after that I was pretty tired, and did not continue to do other olle courses.

The weather was real nice and cooling for me, while in halla san there were truck loads of students doing the trial, i took 9 hours up and down the Songpanan Trail.

Half the Journey I used the public buses, some were frequent and some you had to wait a bit. the best thing to get from the airport is the Bus route from the customer service, you need to ask as it's not on the rack.

the other half like the rest i hired a taxi for a day to cover place that are far and apart.

cheers!
