Holy Week in the Philippines
« on: Feb 15, 07, 06:15 PM »
Glad to meet all of you at tonight's gathering.

Finally got down to arranging some of the scenes I witnessed while I was in the Philippines last year.  This is the anticipated Good Friday, in cutud San Pedro, of the province of Angeles, north of Manila, on the isle of Luzon.

Maybe later I'll fill the album up a bit with more scenes from Holy Week, as well as other parts of the Philippines.

Sorry, cute seals not included.

in other less extreme communities, e.g. the Moriones island south of Luzon, or according to forummer SUN_69 in Sulawesi, they do not nail through, but rather tie the wrists to the cross.

i think somewhere in south america, some communities do this nailing, flaggelation etc too, but i'm not sure where.  SA gurus please advise?  thanks!

and err.. ya, those photos were from the camera, not cut and paste one :)  except that cute seal in the background, kenna crucified in the eye.
