Clothing for Really Cold Weather
« on: Apr 08, 11, 04:17 PM »
wus recommended without going down for around -20 to -30? walk walk outdoor.

if i wear normal briefs, thights, singlet + bodyfit midweight base (long sleeve crew and pants) + normal shirt/pants with leg warmer + northface broadband triclimate can survive?

dun consider gloves, hats, scarfs, shoes first.

or add an additional fleece?

experienced travellers pls advise.  ;D

i not getting the above in sg.. prices too screwed up here.

Best to get a good Down jacket with a down fill rating of 750-800 . Nothing beats a good down jacket for really cold conditions.
Not cheap but worth it when u need it !

Hi itohiro,

For me,three T shirts,a sweater and a normal winter coat with beanie, scarf and glove is enough.
Lower part of body - normal jean and shoes.

It also depends on how much time you spend outdoors, the heating and insulation indoors and also the wind-chill.

I remember Chicago at -19 Celcius, plus windchill...  :icon_pale:
